The Role: QA Development Engineer

As a system QA Development Engineer at hi5, you will be responsible for:

• Designing and refining test plans, and presenting test cases to project team.
• Implementing system test cases.
• Submitting, regressing, and verifying defects.
• Becoming a domain expert for the hi5 web application.
• Being proactive and flexible in a fast-paced environment.
• Developing a test automation suite.

Requirements:

• 2+ years white box Java web application testing experience.
  Analyze requirements, develop detailed test strategy and test plans for web applications. 
• Work closely with engineers to ensure the feature achieves desired level of quality. 
• Influence the inclusion of testability during design and development.
• Thoroughly test the offering through all phases of development life cycle (Functional testing, regression/integration testing, performance testing).
• Implement automated testing infrastructures and automated test cases.
• Interact with developers during all stages of projects; participate in design and code reviews
• Contribute to continuous process improvements to increase the efficiency of QA and development.
• Conduct problem tracking, resolution verification and reporting.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred:

• 2+ years experience in test plan design and testing of web applications.
  BS/BA in Computer Science or related field.
• Working knowledge of automation tools and scripts (Perl, python, shell).
• Multi-tier, multi-server testing experience.
• Experience testing in UNIX/Linux systems and Java web applications.
• Knowledge of a wide variety of web content and media types.
• Experience with open source software.
• Experience creating and running performance/scalability tests.
