About the Team: Infrastructure - AntiSpam Group

The AntiSpam team is responsible for building the supporting the software systems to monitor, detect, and prevent spamming and phishing activities on the hi5.com website.

About the Role : Lead Engineer

As a Lead Engineer in the AntiSpam team, you will be leading a team to develop large scale systems that perform data collection, pattern recognition, and spam prevention. The ideal candidate will be driven with the challenge of finding any and all ways to intelligently categorize and eliminate spam and abusive behavior on the hi5 website. You should be familiar with existing techniques in spam detection, such as Bayesian learning, and have great ideas for how you would approach the problem on a social networking website.

Responsibilities:

· Develop highly-scalable systems that perform Spam detection and prevention
· Develop innovate techniques for the identification of spam in a social networking website
· Work closely with data analysts to identify new patterns in abusive site behavior
· Analyze and improve efficiency, scalability, and stability of Spam data collection, storage, and information retrieval processes

Requirements:

· 4+ years of Software development experience
· Extensive experience working with large data stores
· Experience developing Bayesian learning systems and other statistical AI techniques
· Expert knowledge developing and debugging in Java or C/C++ on *nix
· Experience as a technical lead

Preferred:

· Previous experience building Spam prevention systems
· Experience with filesystems, server architectures, and distributed systems
· MS. In Computer Science Preferred
