The Area: Product

The Product Engineering team is responsible for designing, developing and maintaining hi5¹s suite of next generation social applications. Product Engineers deal both with creating highly usable interfaces as well as tackling complex problems of scale as we evolve our product. Our Product Engineers are excellent problem solvers and are passionate about building great software for an audience of millions of users every day. As a lead software engineer in the product group at hi5, you will be leading a team that is responsible for designing, developing, and deploying web products that reach millions of people and provide intuitive interfaces for their online social activities.

The Role: Lead Software Engineer - Product Group

Responsibilities:

• Lead a team of motivated developers to deliver highly scalable and usable web products.
• Design and code high-volume software primarily using Java.
• Design and implement web interfaces using XHTML, CSS, and Javascript.

Requirements:

• B.S. Computer Science or related field.
• Extensive experience building Java web applications.
• Expertise in XHTML, CSS, and Javascript.
• Expertise in relational databases and SQL.
• Enthusiasm for solving difficult problems.
• Passion for and experience developing great web products end-to-end.

Preferred:

• Experience building high-volume server applications.
• Experience in team leadership role.
