About the Team: Product Engineering


The Product Engineering team is responsible for designing, developing and maintaining hi5's suite of next generation social applications. Product Engineers deal both with creating highly usable interfaces as well as tackling complex problems of scale as we evolve our product. Our Product Engineers are excellent problem solvers and are passionate about building great software for an audience of millions of users every day.

The Role: Senior Software Engineer


As a Software Engineer at hi5, you will be responsible for the following:

· Coding high-volume software primarily using Java.
· Implementing web interfaces using XHTML, CSS, and Javascript.

Requirements:

B.S. Computer Science or related field
Design and code high-volume software primarily using Java
Several years of software development experience.
Expertise in Java and/or C++.
Expertise in XHTML, CSS, and Javascript
Knowledge of relational databases and SQL.
Enthusiasm for solving difficult problems.
Passion for developing great user interfaces.

Preferred

· Experience in end-to-end java web application development.
· Experience developing high-volume server applications.
